The gardening group was established to support women in creating a meaningful memorial space that honours the lives of those lost to violence, and to drug and alcohol use. The garden provides a peaceful place for reflection, healing, and remembrance, while also serving as a shared community project. Through working together to design, plant, and maintain the space, participants build connection, confidence, and a sense of purpose. The project encourages teamwork and offers opportunities to learn practical gardening skills, supporting both personal growth and collective wellbeing. This living memorial continues to grow alongside the women who care for it.
